Buzz Learning joins the Outcomes First family

Outcomes First Group has announced the acquisition of Buzz Learning, a specialist secondary school for pupils aged 11 – 16 and a post-16 college in Northumberland, to join their Acorn Education and Care brand. Established in 2004 by Therese Timlin, Buzz Learning is geographically located near to Parkside House School and will strengthen the presence of our Acorn schools in the North-East.

Under the leadership of Gemma McCutcheon (Head of School and College) Buzz Learning aims to meet the needs of each learner to prepare them effectively for adult life. Offering a broad and balanced learning experience which promotes educational, spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and physical development the ethos is to enable its learners to “Be all they can!”

Daniel Cooke, Managing Director at Acorn Education and Care said: “It gives me great pleasure to welcome Gemma and the team from Buzz Learning to our wider family.  We are delighted that we will now be able to educate more young people with Special Educational Needs across the North-East region.”

Therese Timlin, who will continue to support during a handover period said: “I am sure that Outcomes First Group will secure the future development of Buzz Learning and I am happy to be handing over to a company that cares about the wellbeing of its learners and staff.”
