Role: Senior Children’s Care Worker
Salary: £26,644.80 - £28,674.77 per annum including sleep in payments
Hours: 56.31 hours per week - 2 on, 4 off shift pattern (sleep ins included in hours)
Location: Wrexham, North Wales
Essential: A full driving licence, the willingness to work towards a funded diploma in Residential Childcare and the Right to Work in the UK
Acorn Education and Care are recruiting Senior Children’s Care Workers to continue developing your career within our teams within the Wrexham area. Our registered independent children’s homes offer residential care for children & young people with social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH). This means that the Children we care for may have experienced challenging or traumatic upbringings and may have difficulties with anxiety, mental health or in some cases self-harm. That’s why we’re looking for calm, conscientious and kind people who can take care of the nightly needs of the children– vital help that can transform their lives!
Endbourne is a registered Children’s home which supports Children and Young People to build incredible futures by giving them opportunities, developing their life skills and personal interests.
This home is based in Wrexham and is within commutable distance from Mold, Chester and surrounds.
As a Senior Children’s Care Worker, you will support the Care workers and work directly with vulnerable children with SEMH challenges. Daily tasks involve providing them with the care, support and opportunities they need to be happy, healthy and to make their way in the world. You will work with our multi-disciplinary and therapy team to contribute to individual Quality of Life Plans and provide a balanced programme of personal development focusing on social skills, independence and community involvement, enabling the young people to achieve their full potential. You will also be responsible for chaperoning the children to appointments and activities such as shopping or trips to the zoo, completing relevant paperwork, undertaking household tasks, personal care and where appropriate administering medication.

You’ll be friendly, patient, kind and considerate as you help the children learn, making sure they’re well looked after whenever they’re in our care. You’ll love giving them space to grow and thrive, playing your part in creating a nurturing environment in which they can fulfil their potential.
Great communication skills are essential, as you’ll be in close contact with the children you care for daily and you’ll be a role model for our Care workers, always looking at ways to develop their skills. In this role, warm and welcoming smiles really matter!
