Job Title:          Occupational Therapist

Location:          Shifnal, Shropshire

Salary:              £25,000 - £45,000 dependent on experience

Hours:              37.5 per week

Contract:          Permanent, 52 weeks per annum

We are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our Athena Hub covering multiple sites across residential care and education in the Shropshire and Staffordshire area. Working collaboratively to deliver bespoke assessment and intervention plans for our children and young people with developmental trauma, autism, ADHD, complex and SEMH needs

About the role:

Based within our Athena Hub you will implement a holistic, therapeutic approach to helping our children and young people in their daily lives, ensuring they are safe, comfortable, and healthy. Undertaking all aspects of Occupational Therapy clinical duties, you will adhere to professional and regulatory guidelines, carrying out individual assessments and interventions, and preparing relevant documentation, including writing reports. In addition you will provide information and training to staff, commissioners and other agencies, as required.

Location: Based at Hillcrest School, providing support to 3 other Schools and Residential Care Homes in the area.  Our schools provide specialist education for students up to 18 years of age, specialising in either social, emotional and mental health difficulties or Autism, alongside a range of additional needs including Asperger’s, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, ASD, ODD, issues which require CAMHS involvement and Attachment Disorder. This role will cover the needs of the Athena Hub: the work base may be negotiable and we are open to discussions around alternative working patterns.

Essential Criteria:

  • Recognised and relevant Occupational Therapist degree
  • Valid and up to date HCPC registration
  • Driving licence and access to vehicle
  • Experience working with Children and Young People
  • Experience of working within an educational setting would be advantageous
