Everyone deserves an incredible future!

Become a Pastoral Co-ordinator at Brookthorpe Hall School, part of Acorn Education and Care and start working towards yours.

We are currently looking for an experienced Pastoral Co-ordinator to join our team at Brookthorpe Hall School.

Brookthorpe Hall School is a brand-new independent specialist day school for boys and girls aged from 8 to 14, catering for children with a wide range of needs such as Social and Emotional Mental Health, Autism and Complex Trauma. Our dedicated team will work together to ensure successful outcomes for pupils who often arrive at the school with a troubled view of education and life.

The opportunity

Enjoy a rewarding education career and have a real impact on children and young people’s lives. Join an amazing team creating supportive, nurturing environments where our pupils achieve far more than they ever expected.

As a Pastoral Co-ordinator you will connect directly with the brilliant children and young people we care for, helping to make sure they get the very best from their education. Each individual has a diagnosis of Autism and may have additional needs. They have so much potential, and they will rely on you to guide their learning journeys bespoke to them.

When it comes to looking after our children, we never settle for second best. We are looking for a Pastoral Co-ordinator who can work with individual and small groups of children. You will take a lead role in delivering pastoral support to pupils, manage, supervise and direct those pupils working to a modified timetable.

You will face challenges and overcome them as you flourish and thrive, sharing your skills and learning from others as your career takes you as high as you always dreamed you could go.

Every day will be different, but you will have all the support you need, with lots of skills and experience to draw on along with valuable advice and guidance too.

Who we are looking for

Experience in behaviour management and social development is preferred but not essential as we will train, support and promote you to ensure you have an amazing career. All you need is drive to make a difference and a focus on the positive outcomes for our children and the right personality.

You will be adaptable and ready to work in a variety of classroom roles, both indoors and outside according to individual need. You will spend time assisting the young people at the times that they are managing the least. As part of your role you will be required to support with behavioural analysis and safety intervention. You will be there when they are upset, when they don’t believe in themselves and when they need an arm around their shoulder. You will be a key staff member, a highly effective team committed to getting the best from the young people.

This role does come with potential challenges, behaviour management is essential because you will be working on the front line with young people who can find life challenging. You will need to be mentally and physically fit and resilient.

Our schools are built on great teamwork and mutual support. If you enjoy working as part of a dedicated team, sharing knowledge, experience and learning, simply fill in our safeguarding-compliant application form and a member of our team will be in touch.
