Position: Care Worker

Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week

Salary: £22,546 - £24,888

Location: Ford, Shrewsbury

Our residential home is looking for caring individuals who enjoy working with young people and are keen to make a difference.  

We are looking for creative, active and open-minded Care Workers, to join our family feel team. You must have a keen interest in encouraging and inspiring even the most challenging of minds and behaviours. We are looking for candidates, who want to get involved, have their ideas heard, are confident being a parental figure and who are resilient, active and caring. As part of this role, you will work with the children in their home. Previous experience with young people with a history of SEMH is preferred and a Level 3 qualification in health and social care is desirable. However, as long as you have the desire to complete the qualification, which will be fully funded and supported, all the training and help needed will be offer to ensure you are able to thrive in your care career.

If you have no experience but want to make a difference and have transferrable skills from working in hospitality, activity centres, the forces or public services, we would be excited to hear from you and can provide you all the training and support to succeed and develop, being a Care Worker.

Who are we?

Bryn Melyn Care (BMC) is part of Outcomes First Group and is a leading provider of therapeutic, residential care, independent education and integrated clinical services for children and young people with multiple and complex needs. We deliver a portfolio of specialist services for young people ages 8 – 18+, from crisis and assessment placement, through to long-term placement and preparation for independent living.

At Bryn Melyn Care we are continuously developing services in care and education for children and young people with a range of emotional and behavioural needs (EBD). We have 27 residential homes across Shropshire, North Wales and Powys. Our homes consist of solo bedded homes, multi bedded homes; for up to 2-4 children or young people. We have our own independent Ofsted approved school for our children and young people allowing us to cater to their individual specialist educational needs (SEN).

The team within the home all work collaboratively to ensure the young people are supported and safeguarded, within and outside of their home.

You will be contracted to 40 hours per week. This therefore includes sleep-ins and an example shift patterns would be: 2 on 4 off shift patterns, this including sleep ins.
