We are looking for an experienced Pastoral Manager to join our fantastic team at Wetheringsett Manor, Suffolk.
As a Pastoral Manager, you will take a creative approach to teaching pupils according to their educational needs, ensuring delivery of the school curriculum in a way that maximises children’s achievement and ability to develop.
This is a great opportunity for a Pastoral Manager who wants to spend less time on paperwork and more time developing creative learning opportunities for children with varied and complex needs. Your work will be challenging and rewarding in equal measure and you will be working in a school where we maintain a strong safeguarding culture, where pupils are listened to, respected and involved in as many decisions as possible.
When it comes to looking after our children, we never settle for second best. We are looking for a Teacher, experienced in teaching, who shares our vision to build incredible futures by empowering vulnerable young people in the UK, to be happy and to make their way in the world.
Whilst previous experience of working in an SEN environment would be desirable, excellent teaching skills and the right motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience are just as important.
Educated with At least 5 GCSEs and evidence of Post-16 qualifications, you will be calm, engaging, resilient, and have an innovative style of teaching, motivated by helping every child to reach their potential.
About the School
Wetheringsett Manor School is a new independent day SEMH School for up to 42 pupils aged 11-18. Our dedicated team work together to ensure successful outcomes for pupils who often arrive at the school with a troubled view of education and life.
Wetheringsett Manor School site is going through significant refurbishment and is based in Suffolk, East Anglia. The Manor House is located in 17 acres of parkland with wooded boundaries and sits on the edge of the village of Wetheringsett. The accommodation also provides several other buildings including a converted stable block, a cottage and two industrial units.
We pride ourselves in steering children in the right direction, nurturing aspiration to progress them both academically and socially to encourage them to take pride in their achievements. Socially, we build confidence in our students so they are able to have a greater understanding of the wider community in which they live.

About the Role
We are looking at someone to guide our already fantastic staff to better support pupils in their learning in school. This varied job ranges from operational responsibility and organisation to analysis of trends to dealing with our pupils on the front line.
Your time will be divided between working with pupils directly and working with staff to get the best out of every learning opportunity. You will have a sense of humour, be resilient and you will be someone that pupils can turn to support them through difficult times.
We want the young people to retain as much responsibility over their lives as possible and develop over time. We want to create safe and nurturing environments for our children and young people and you will support us in ensuring the physical, emotional and personal care needs of the children are met.

The position is due to commence in July 2021 (dependent on the relevant checks being completed).
