Salary:                   £29,664 - £38,690 (Dependent on experience)

Hours:                    37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm

Contract:               Term Time Only - 195 days

We are looking for an experienced Teacher to join our fantastic team at The Shires at Stretton. As a Senior Teacher at The Shires you will take a creative approach to teaching pupils according to their educational needs, ensuring delivery of the school curriculum in a way that maximises children’s achievement and ability to develop.

You will also have whole school responsibility for driving the development of robust assessment systems to in order to record and report pupil progress effectively to parents, professionals and other key stakeholders.

Whilst previous experience of working in an SEN/ASC environment would be desirable, excellent teaching skills and the right motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience are just as important.

Educated to degree level and having Qualified Teacher Status, you will be calm, engaging, resilient, and have an innovative style of teaching, motivated by helping every child to reach their potential.

 

About us:

The Shires provides specialist education and care for young people aged 11-19 years of age with Autism, associated learning disabilities and complex needs.  The Shires comprises of two specialist independent schools co-located alongside two children's homes.  The Shires at Stretton, and The Shires at Oakham are both situated in the beautiful county of Rutland.  The Shires at Stretton provides 38 or 52-week care and educational packages for up to fourteen pupils, with space for six 38-week education only day placements.  The Shires at Oakham provides 38 or 52-week care and educational packages for up to seven pupils, with space for one 38-week education only day placement.

The interview process with consist of a short lesson observation, in-tray task, pupil/staff panel and a formal interview.

Closing date for applications in 9am on Monday 24th May 2021.  Interviews will be conducted on Wednesday 26th May 2021.  The successful candidate will need to be available to start as of 1st September 2021.
