We are Options Autism, for 16 years we’ve been providing care for adults with autism, learning disabilities and complex needs.  We currently have opportunities to join us as a Bank Support Worker.

Options Vernon is a residential home for adults with moderate to severe learning disabilities, physical disabilities, sensory impairment, or specific health needs. The home provides long-term care and support with maximum independence.  Residents living at Vernon are encouraged and empowered to take an active part in the community and access mainstream leisure pursuits and interests. Individual support plans can include access to day centres, colleges, or adult education classes.

This is a flexible role where you would be paid an hourly rate working shifts as agreed with the Managers to cover for things such as annual leave.  The shifts are offered out to the Bank team and can include day shifts, night shifts, evenings or weekends as we operate a 24/7, 52 week service. 

Your preferences and availability would be discussed at interview.

About the role

Day to day duties are focused around providing high quality care and supporting our residents to develop independent life skills from; eg making a cup of tea to going food shopping or even booking a holiday.  You would be supporting with personal care and day to day activities as required.

Who are we looking for?

This role is ideal for those who have ad hoc availability to work maybe some days, nights, evenings or weekends but can’t currently commit to a permanent role with a fixed working pattern. No previous industry experience is required as we will provide full training and support which starts with a fantastic induction and continues when you are in post.
