Acorn Park is a Special Educational Needs (SEN) School and Residential home. We are looking for Educational staff: Teaching Assistants, Higher Level Teaching assistants, Teachers. Residential staff: Care workers, Senior Care workers, Team leaders, Deputy managers. Everyone within our business is a key worker and no one has been furloughed or made redundant due to Covid-19.

If you have been furloughed or made redundant from bar work, restaurants, customer service roles, activity centres, or any other job where your skills could be transferred, we would like to hear from you! You do not need to have any experience to be a Teaching assistant or Care worker, as we will provide extensive training and progression opportunities.

Acorn Park will host a virtual recruitment day on Friday 12th February via Microsoft Teams whereby anyone can log into the session to find out more about the service, the roles, what we are looking for and how to apply. We are hosting a morning session and an afternoon session: please see below the timetable.

We also have great opportunities and development opportunities for Qualified and experienced care and Education staff.

The session will run as follows:

Session 1

9.30 - 10.00 ‘Welcome to Acorn Park’ – A presentation from the Head of Service to find out more about the service, plans for the future and the vision, mission and values.

10.00-10.30 - ‘Virtual Tour of the site’ – Due to Covid, we are unable to provide actual tours of the site. A presentation will be given to show pictures of the service and what we offer and well as information about the children we work with.

10.30-11.00- Four break out rooms will be provided where those who are qualified or unqualified will be directed to a specific talk with the staff and managers. This is a time to find out about specific roles, what the expectations are, what a day in the life looks like, hours, salary etc.

11:00- 12.00- Q &A overall session. All of the Senior leads from the site will be on this call, ready to answer any of your questions. There will also be a quick session from our Resourcing manager on what the next steps are, how to apply and a little about safer recruitment and compliance checks.

Session 2 will replicate the above and start at 13:30 – 16:00

Acorn Park is one of the 44 Schools, led by the UK’s largest Children services group – Outcomes First group. We are a national company and there are plenty of career opportunities within the group. We were announced in April as the 28th , UK’s Best Workplace in 2020 and so if Acorn Park isn’t suitable, please email recruitment@ofgl.co.uk to express your interest in other Schools or Care homes and come and join our team!
