School Catering Manager

Location:          Oak Tree School, Truro, Cornwall.

Salary:             Up to £17,292 dependent on experience

Hours:              8am – 2pm, Monday to Friday

Contract:          Permanent, Term Time only

 

We’re looking for a School Catering Manager to join the Oak Tree School team. Someone who is organised and self-motivated would be perfect for this role.

Oak Tree School is a specialist provision positioned near the city of Truro in Cornwall. The school provides full-time specialist co-education for up to 65 children and young people aged 7 to 16 who experience social, emotional, mental health, communication difficulties and associated challenging behaviours. These children and young people often cannot cope, function or achieve within a mainstream environment. The aim is to provide a structured, nurturing approach, with pupils accessing a broad, balanced and engaging curriculum to meet their significant needs

About the role

We are looking for a School Catering Manager to prepare and cook for students and staff team (around 200 people). The right candidate will be responsible for the day to day management of our catering services. We will require the right candidate to produce a rolling 3 week menu that is changed every term.

Who we are looking for?

Applicants would benefit from experience of working with students with Social Emotional and Mental Health but this is not essential as relevant training would be given to suitable candidates.

Essential Criteria

  • Experience in administration and budgeting, including stock control and ordering
  • Experience in producing school menus
  • Proven ability in the supervision of staff, including staff training
  • Excellent cooking skills
