Speech, Language & Communication Therapies Lead

Location:          The Shires, Stretton, Rutland. East Midlands.

Hours:              37.5 hours per week

Salary:              Up to £44,508 dependent on experience

Contract:          Permanent, Full Time

 

The Outcomes First Group (OFG) have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Speech and Language Therapist. We are rapidly expanding our clinical services to support, care for and educate vulnerable children and adults who have SEN, Autism or developmental difficulties. As part of this expansion, we are introducing a clinical team to one of our biggest hubs - The East.  This team will eventually grow to deliver services within the region to our surrounding schools, care homes and fostering agencies.

 

About the School:

The Shires is made up of three sites all within a 15-minute drive of one another. The sites consist of two Special Educational Needs (SEN) Schools and three Residential homes.  We help care for and support 33 young people aged 11-19 and 8 young adults who have been diagnosed with Autism and may have accompanying learning disabilities, behavioural problems or medical conditions.

About The Role:

The Speech, Language and Communication Therapies Lead will contribute and have oversight of the assigned provision(s) speech, language & communication service at a universal, targeted and specialist level of intervention, ensuring that the Statement of Purpose/Local Offer is achieved. 

 

Who we are looking for?

We are looking for an experienced, committed and enthusiastic Speech & Language Therapist.

The post-holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary team. A key aspect of the role will be quality assuring the modality of speech, language and communication within the hub and the model delivery, ensuring it remains effective and the interventions are delivered at a universal, targeted and specialist level to support our wider teams in meeting our children, young peoples and/or adult’s needs in line with set Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) and other supporting documents.

 

Essential Criteria:

  • A recognised Speech & Language Therapist qualification
  • Experience in leading/supervising a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience of working with children, young people and/or adults
  • Demonstrable ability to complete clinical tasks
  • Demonstrable ability to lead and manage strategically
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a range of key partners
  • Ability to work sensitively with people and resolve conflict.
