Our Green Initiatives Programme

What is Green Initiatives?

The purpose of the ‘Green Initiatives’ programme is to support environmentally friendly initiatives. The funds we have guaranteed for this won’t be spent on anything else other than green initiatives.

The programme is in addition to our existing focus on minimising the Group’s impact on the environment, such as, purchasing our energy from sources as sustainable as possible, recycling a high proportion of our waste, minimising travel and conducting our building projects in the most sustainable way possible.

Each quarter we will invite applications for funds, which will be considered by a panel of colleagues from around the Group who share an interest in championing greener ways of working.

Examples of activities that we might deliver include:

  • Growing: composting, seed collection and propagation of native flora, food growing for gardens, specialist sensory gardens etc.
  • Conversion: converting current power sources to greener sources, or new installation, boiler installs to reduce wastage, solar panel installation.
  • Carbon friendly energy usage: LED light installation, EV charging points installation

We would love to see projects which align to Our Promise and help to raise awareness with the children and adults we educate and care for and therefore will create a lasting legacy as they start understanding the impact they can have on their environment.
