Dr McAnespie, Clinical Lead & Consultant Clinical Psychologist at Options Autism, to deliver live presentation as part of Autism Show Webinar Week
This year from 12-17th October, the Autism Show is delivering a live webinar week, including 30 hours
Standing ovations from special guests Katie Price, Harvey, Dr Pam Spurr award-winning radio presenter, Gio Spano X Factor finalist and actor Richard Mylan top the bill
Standing ovations were the name of the game at this year’s Autism’s Got Talent when children and adult performers with autism from across the UK, Ireland and India came together to showcase their talent and to demonstrate what they CAN do on stage at The Mermaid Theatre, London.
“The theatre was buzzing with excitement as the audience watched in awe of our talented performers”, said event organiser Anna Kennedy OBE, “I am so proud of all of the performers and my team of volunteers.”
VIP guests included Katie Price and Harvey – who announced that Harvey would be showcasing his talent at the next Autism’s Got Talent Roadshow in St Ives at the end of June – Dr Pam Spurr award-winning radio presenter, Gio Spano X Factor finalist and actor Richard Mylan, best known for his roles as Leroy Jones in The Bill and Grownups as Chris.
Once again Jonathan Baron and Autism with Attitude, Hillingdon Manor School’s award-winning street dance troupe wowed the audience when they bust some moves on stage fresh from performing on the BBC’s hit show The Greatest Dancer in which three superstar dance captains – singer Cheryl, Broadway star Matthew Morrison and `Strictly’ professional Oti Mabuse – led the way.
This year Jonathan showcased his new young recruits with the support of some of the students that have performed many times on stage. It was an emotional and uplifting experience. One of the pupils did a cartwheel after they finished their performance!
Richard Mylan, actor and father of a child with autism, was blown away once again by the talent on stage saying “Forget Britain’s Got Talent and X Factor these performers have reached their pinnacle at ‘Autism’s Got Talent!’”
Anna Kennedy and one of her patrons Ryan Wiggins welcomed on stage one of their new Charity Autism Ambassadors Siena Castellon. It was Siena’s first experience of the show – she wrote:
“I am in awe of the performances I saw at Autism’s Got Talent. I am so grateful to have been part of such an amazing event. Much too often autism is seen in a negative light and the focus is on the challenges and difficulties. This is the first time in my life I have seen the talents of youth and adults with autism celebrated.
“The quality of the performances – whether it was singing, dancing, playing an instrument – was amazing. These performers could stand shoulder to shoulder with professional performers. Thank you Anna Kennedy for such an awesome evening. It exceeded all my expectations and definitely will be the highlight of my year in 2019!”
