Hillingdon Manor School have taken part in a nationwide initiative to reduce bullying in schools. Dr Nicky Greaves, Consultant Clinical Psychologist at the school, carried out an audit provided by the All Together Programme which provides a whole school anti-bullying programme and aims to reduce bullying for all children and young people.
The audit included evaluating all the school’s anti-bullying training. Nicky provides training to staff as part of an anti-bullying intervention, staff then tailored this training to the individual needs of the different class groups. The intervention covers three main areas: What is bullying?; What does the school do about bullying?; How to be assertive and report it.
Nicky used the All Together Programme’s ‘Me and My School’ measure and data collection facility developed by the Child Outcomes Research Consortium to evaluate the intervention and to complete the audit. Staff then supported pupils in completing both a pre- and post-measure of wellbeing and knowledge of anti-bullying.
The school have done a fantastic job of evaluating current practice and raising awareness of bullying and as a result have been awarded the All Together Programme silver status.
Well done and thank you to the staff team for supporting the pupils in completing the questionnaires. Read more about the All Together Programme here: www.anti-bullyingalliance.org.uk/alltogether-eoi
