World Book Day at Baston House School

Learners and staff at Baston House School showed their love for reading on 5th March when they dressed up as their favourite characters, participated in themed lessons and created fantastic book posters in their class groups.
There were array of wonderful costumes ranging from heroes to villains, pirates to princesses and animals It was very enjoyable day and it was so positive to see so many learners taking part and having discussions about the importance of reading and their favourite stories.
Reading is extremely important as well as enjoyable and is highly promoted at Baston House. Every learner participates
in at least 20 minutes of scheduled reading every day and works alongside the Accelerated Reading programme which monitors their progress and tests their understanding of the text they have read We hope that this will encourage learners.
