Salary:              Up to £21,000 per annum

Hours:              37 hours per week

About us

Bramfield House School is an independent residential special educational needs school for boys aged 7 – 16 years who have social, emotional, mental health, communication difficulties and associated challenging behaviours, located in rural Suffolk. The School has a committed and innovative multidisciplinary team, extensive site and excellent facilities to support both learning and extra-curricular activities; we are in a great position to provide our pupils with the best education and care possible.

This opportunity is in Halesworth which is within commutable distance of Lowestoft, Diss and surrounding areas.

About the Role

Working with our Pastoral Managers, you will be responsible for providing essential support to our SEN pupils, with social, emotional, mental health, Autism, communication difficulties and associated challenging behaviours, under the direction of the SENCo and pastoral management team. You will build positive relationships with pupils to promote interaction and a constructive learning environment as well as assist the class teacher and other education staff with learning activities. Work is often carried outside of the classroom environment and you will have the opportunity to assist in the planning and delivery of lessons in a very creative and positive setting.

You will work with young people to improve their direct engagement in lessons an support young people back into lessons where they are struggling. You will carry out specific interventions with boys and family’s to improve their motivation and self image. 

Our team at Bramfield House are encouraged to take a creative approach, seeking ways to positively engage with and motivate pupils through lessons that promote learning and raise levels of attainment. Smaller class sizes mean you can focus on building a purposeful learning environment that meets individual educational needs of pupils, helping to narrow the gap for pupils who are behind where they should be.
