Job Title:          Maintenance Technician

Location:          Baston House School, Bromley, Kent

Salary:              £22,500 per annum

Hours:              40 hours per week

Contract:          Permanent

Can you enrich the lives of young people as a Maintenance Technician?

We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our team at Baston House School. Someone with a friendly and helpful disposition who can draw upon their previous maintenance experience, ensuring the school premises and site are a safe, clean and welcoming environment for the school community. 

As Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance and security of the school premises, ensuring the school meets Health & Safety Legislation, and that the premises, vehicles and grounds are maintained to a high standard. You will ensure a professional service is delivered which meets the needs of the school, including producing and maintaining a rolling programme of redecoration, repairs and maintenance. As part of this role, there will be occasional call-outs, out of hours and the successful candidate will be required to liaise and work with external contractors.

Who are we looking for?

Friendly, reliable, approachable, and flexible, you will have previous experience of working in a maintenance role.  You will be conscientious and understand the importance of keeping high standards in and around the school, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for all. 

The successful candidate will:

  • Have previous maintenance experience
  • Be a resilient, responsible, friendly and organised person
  • Have the ability to work alone or as part of team
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Be committed to the safeguarding and welfare of all children

Baston House School is an independent day specialist provider of education in Bromley, Kent for children and young people aged from 5 to 19 years who have been diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC).
