Salary:     £38,000.00 - £45,000.00 per annum

Contract: 52 week, permanent

We’re looking for a Deputy Head of Care to join our team. Someone who can deliver a holistic and integrated approach to care would be perfect for this role.

About the Role

The Deputy Head of Care role is a senior operational management role responsible for supporting the management of the care services offered by Kinsale School. The role is responsible for the direct line management of the Deputy Registered Managers and other the associated staff within the Care team. The Deputy Head of Care is also responsible for supporting the operations, quality of care, safety and financial performance of those services in line with Option Autism's vision, mission and values.

Who we are looking for?

This is an exciting role where the successful candidate will assist the Head of Care to lead the care staff team and with all aspects of the residential provision. They will support with oversight of the strategic development of the provision in consultation with the Head of Service and liaise closely as part of the Senior Leadership Team with colleagues in therapy and education. 

We are looking for someone who has had extensive and successful experience as a senior leader within a children or young person’s care environment. You should have a positive work ethic and be able to work effectively to produce an effective leadership team.

You will be working with a bubbly team of staff who have a lot of experience working with children with complex needs.  You should have an extensive knowledge surrounding safeguarding of children and young people, as a main responsibility of the Deputy Head of Care will be ensuring that safeguarding procedures are implemented correctly.  We want someone who places a focus on the positive outcomes of our children and adults and takes responsibility for helping improve the lives of our young people.

While experience of working with children and young people with special educational needs is desirable, excellent leadership skills, the right motivation and personal qualities are just as important.

Kinsale is located in a stunning rural location, overlooking the Dee Estuary. Our school provides specialist education and care for up to 25 students, aged 8 – 19 having a range of complex needs including ASC and ADHD, in addition to impaired social or cognitive functioning due to early life trauma and attachment difficulties.
