We now have an opportunity for a Catering Assistant to join our close-knit team at The Holden School.

About us

The Holden School is an independent specialist day school for boys and girls aged from 4 to 16, catering for children with a wide range of needs in Lancashire, Manchester and surrounding areas. Our dedicated team work together to ensure successful outcomes for pupils who often arrive at the school with a troubled view of education and life. We are a Therapeutic Led, Trauma Informed School providing individualised curriculums for our young people supported by our Class Teams, our Pastoral Team and our own Therapists.

About the Role

Working with our friendly and supportive team, you will be working alongside the Catering Manager to prepare and serve meals to pupils and staff members, maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen and dining area. These duties will include but are not limited to; assisting the Catering Manager prepare food, prepare the dining hall for pupil’s lunch time, serve food and assisting to clean the dining hall and kitchen area after lunch times.

You will work hard and at pace to complete your designated work each day and ensure the correct equipment and cleaning methods are used to adhere to relevant Food Hygiene Standards.  Level 2 Food Hygiene preferred but not essential.

Whilst previous experience of working in a SEN environment would be desirable, excellent communication, interpersonal skills, the right kind of motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience are just as important.
