About the Home:

Hayling Island are looking for candidates who can use their interests to engage with the children we work with. If you love boxing, sports, cooking, animals, hair and beauty, orienteering, video games etc. and you are a confident person, who has engaged with challenging behaviour, we would love to hear from you. Our children need support workers who are caring and empathetic but also supportive and reliable and who can confidently take control of a challenging situation to show our children and young people they are safe and secure.

This home is based in Hayling Island, and is within commuting distance from Waterlooville, Portsmouth and surrounds.

Who are we are looking for?

You will be responsible for the wellbeing of the children or young people in your care. This will include chaperoning the children to appointments and activities, completing relevant paperwork, undertaking household tasks, and where appropriate administering medication. Our Deputy Managers help to ensure our care teams have the structure, resources and motivation needed to provide the individual, bespoke, support required by the children and young people in our care. Alongside the Registered Manager, you will deliver efficient management, delivery, and development of our residential SEMH service, ensuring the highest quality of care and support is consistently given.

Working as part of an incredible committed team, you will co-operate and share knowledge and learning to the benefit of great care. Excellent communication skills are essential, both in terms of teamwork and – most importantly – as you will be in close contact with the children you care for.

What we need from you:

· Full and valid UK Driving Licence

· Access to a car

· Right to Work in the UK

· Currently hold a Level 3 diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent.

· Have at least 3 year’s hands on experience in a similar residential environment and have been a Senior or Deputy Manager previously.

· Passionate about caring for young adults, and to support them to reach their full potential
