Role: Part Time Adult Night Care Worker

Salary:  £9.52 per hour increasing to £10.00 per hour, once qualified.

Hours:  24 hours per week.

Location: Melton Mowbray (LE14)

Annual Leave Entitlement: Equivalent to 5.6 weeks per year.

Contract: Full Time; Permanent

Full UK Driving Licence essential.

About the Home:

Little Acre Annex consists of one unit with 3 bedrooms and communal areas supporting young adults who have learning disabilities and have complex health needs. 

The ethos of The Annex is very much characterised by a ‘can do’ attitude. We want people who focus on the positive outcome of our adults and take responsibility for helping improve the lives of our service users. We share the value of creating a safe and nurturing home and we want people who can be fair and respectful, in order to do the right thing to support everyone in our care.

Our residents are classed as High-Needs, the role will involve you assisting them with their health and personal care needs. Your duties will range from preparing meals and drinks, to personal care tasks such as feeding (PEG feeds), bathing, and dressing, as well as medication

This home is based in Melton Mowbray, and is within commuting distance from Leicester, Stamford, Loughborough and surrounds.  

Who are we are looking for?

Options Autism Work directly with autistic Adults who exhibit a wide range of abilities, from non-verbal to high-functioning and you will be patient and compassionate and, most of all, dependable – working hard to forge a much-needed relationship of trust with those in your care.

This will involve creatively learning about the adults interests as well as their dislikes and their triggers, using that connection as a launchpad for a rewarding relationship. A passion for this kind of relationship-building is essential.

You will be responsible for the wellbeing of the adults in your care. This includes supporting the adults, as necessary, to perform nightly tasks such as personal care routines, going to bed, getting up in the morning and making breakfast. You will also complete relevant paperwork, undertake household tasks, and where appropriate administer medication.

Working as part of an incredible team of committed care workers, you will co-operate and share knowledge and learning to the benefit of great care. Excellent communication skills are essential, both in terms of teamwork and – most importantly – as you will be in close contact with the adults you care for.

What we need from you:

  • Full and valid UK Driving Licence
  • Access to a car
  • Right to Work in the UK
  • Willing to work towards a funded Adult Care Worker Level 2 Apprenticeship
  • Passionate about caring for adults, and to support them to reach their full potential
