About us

Falkland House School Perth, where you will be based, has just opened, with the initial services focused on supporting 5 young people aged between 16 to 19 years of age towards greater independent living, support with college placements and community engagement. These 5 young people will be based at two different accommodations within the site – a 3-bed house and 2-bed self-contained flat.

Our sister school, Falkland House School, is an independent residential school for boys from primary to 18 years of age.  Our young people have a range of Additional Support Needs including emotional and behavioural difficulties and Autistic Spectrum Disorder.  We were the first independent school in Scotland (outside of the NAS) to receive accreditation from the National Autistic Society. We have three residential houses within the building, accommodating 24 young people.

We are part of the Options Autism and can promise you plenty of challenges, and a rich variety of opportunities to develop your career.

Options Autism provide education and care across a number of schools and residential care homes nationally. Our vision is to build incredible futures by empowering vulnerable young people in the UK to be happy and make their way in the world. Every day we improve the lives of thousands of young people, their families and communities through relentless focus on caring and learning.

The opportunity

This is the opportunity to take the next step in your career and be a part of shaping the service as it grows from providing excellent care and education at our Falkland site, to delivering excellent outcomes for our young people as they move towards greater independence and community inclusion at our new Perth site. You will be part of a fantastic team and will have access to training opportunities and career progression.

The Role

You will manage the accommodation to the highest standards, having regulatory oversight of the service, and providing a safe and secure environment; this will be done by maintaining excellent Care Inspectorate and Health and Social Care Standards. Furthermore, you will work with the Senior Leadership Team to create and implement a development plan for the service.

As the manager, you will have the drive and accountability to ensure that the young people feel included in the wider community, in receipt of the support required for college placements, work experience and social clubs. You will work alongside the wider staff team, including a throughcare worker, to facilitate incredible outcomes for the young people. You will work tirelessly to maximise the potential of your staff team, through the creation of a positive, respectful and engaging atmosphere and ethos.
