Hours: 40 hours per week; plus on-call duties (if needed)

Salary: From £27,500.00 per annum (Inclusive of 5 sleep-ins per month) plus overtime allowance

About the Home:

Woodview is situated on the outskirts of Axminster, an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the Dorset/Devon border close to Lyme Regis. Easily accessible from Crewkerne, Bridport, Yeovil, Dorchester and Exeter.

The home is an Ofsted ‘Good’ and can accommodate four children or young people aged between seven and eighteen.

Using Therapeutic Parenting techniques, we provide residential support for children who have suffered developmental trauma, neglect and abuse during their early life which has caused attachment difficulties and for children with SEND including Autism.

The home is surrounded by woodland, farmland, activity centres, holiday and leisure facilities, high quality restaurants and cafes, tourist attractions and many community events. Our activity budget and provided transport enables staff to introduce the children to find new interests and opportunities in a way that can inspire them.

Who are we are looking for?

Main responsibilities will involve working as part as an established team, proving a safe nurturing environment for our residential students. Further duties will involve:

· Assisting the Registered Manager with leading and supervising Support Workers

· Manage the day to day running of the home to ensure the continuity of staff and their performance, using SMART targets

· Ensuring that a nurturing and caring environment is provided for the children, by a well led and trained staff team who are encouraged to further their knowledge to meet the standards.

· Maintaining and recording of necessary documentation

What we need from you:

Currently hold a Level 4 Apprenticeship for Children, Young People and Families or NVQ equivalent

· At least 2 years’ experience in a similar setting

· Knowledge of legislation, regulations and inspection relating to young people in Care

· Prior knowledge and experience of writing Placement Plans, Risk Assessments and Behaviour plans to reflect Local Authority Plans and required Outcomes in a clear concise, informative, and timely manner with updates as necessary.

· Full and valid UK Driving Licence

· Access to a car

· Right to Work in the UK

· Passionate about caring for children and young people, and to support them to reach their full potential
