Job Title: Assistant Children Home Manager

Location: Park House, Sherwood, Nottingham

Salary: £28,350.00 per annum

Hours: 40 hours per week Monday - Friday 9am till 5pm

Contract: Fixed Term – Maternity Cover

Can you enrich the lives of young people as an Assistant Children Home Manager in our residential care setting?

Under the direction of the Registered Manager. You will work with up to four young people aged 8 to 18 with learning difficulties behaviours and may display other behaviours including attachment disorders, self-harm, and display challenging behaviour.

Candidates should possess and be able to demonstrate strong management, leadership and organisational skills, together with a relevant NVQ Level 3 or Level 3 Children and Young People’s Workforce Diploma or equivalent qualification. Sufficient experience will also be required to enable you to function at this level. Successful candidates should be willing to pursue and complete further professional training such as the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in Residential Childcare. You must also have an up to date training portfolio and have a good knowledge of Safeguarding children with social, emotional, behavioural difficulties and challenging behaviour.

You will also be required to be flexible with the working hours and you may be placed on call. Hours may vary within the week to include weekend and evening cover work as required. Your role may require you to attend evening meetings and shifts.

Already qualified with Level 4 Apprenticeship for Children Young People and Families Practitioner or equivalent, and working at Care Worker level 4 or above, you will be a calm, engaging, resilient manager, diligent with quality and compliance, and motivated to bring your experience to a team that is passionate about providing a safe, caring environment where every child can thrive.

This position is a fixed term contract to cover maternity leave.

Park House is a four bed registered Children’s home. We support Children and Young People from the ages of 8-18 years build incredible futures by giving them opportunities, developing their life skills and personal interests. 

This home is based in Nottingham and is within commuting distance from Mansfield and Derby

Within our setting, committed and dedicated staff support young people to develop and achieve with the use of personalised plans and complementary guidance through the use of key-working. Our home specialises in providing support to young people who have often experienced a fragmented education and lifestyle and who also exhibit behaviour difficulties as a result of past emotional and physical trauma. Placement will be allocated following a robust pre-placement procedure including pre-placement risk assessments and also a visit which considers the whole community.
