RESIDENTIAL CARE WORKER TERM -TIME                               

We have the exciting and rare opportunity for Term-Time residential work. We are looking for a CHILDRENS SUPPORT WORKER for Children with special needs, including Autism and / or Trauma related difficulties. THERAPEUTIC parenting training given.

We have children’s homes situated close to Chard and near Axminster. It is a challenging but rewarding childcare job that requires an understanding of the difficulties our children encounter due to their SEN, care needs and trauma. This does mean our children need support around their challenging behaviour.

Experience is useful but not required.

You will support children towards improved mental health, learning and forming a better life for themselves, through our practice of therapeutic parenting and PACE techniques.

As a Care Assistant / Support Worker you receive:

  • TERM TIME work with limited weekend hours.
  • Full salary for annual leave (not pro-rated reduction due to reduced hours in school holidays)
  • Availability of Sleep-ins or bank work in holidays as overtime if wanted
  • Monthly Rota for predictable hours
  • £63 per sleep plus holiday pay for sleeps - 8 hour sleep-in.
  • Use of company car for work activities
  • Paid overtime for required meetings and training including house meetings.
  • All meals on shift

  • Initial DBS paid for
  • Level 3 Diplomas and career development within a reputable and growing company

You need to be willing to undertake various activities such as bike riding, swimming and walking as well as have an open, compassionate and enquiring disposition. Our children are always out and about so you must have a full driving licence. You also need to have or to work towards a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or an equivalent.

UP TO £17,304

40 hours per week for 38 weeks of the year plus 5.6 weeks holiday still paid at 40 hours per week.

20 hours contract available also, as salary above, pro-rata.

Hours are mainly 2 long days starting 7am until 10.30pm (Monday to Thursday). The remaining hours are utilised to cover weekend support of our boarding children. These hours are booked on the rota in advance and are a maximum of 2 weekends a month, often less depending dependent on whether you are required for full shifts or more split shifts.
