Options Autism are recruiting Adult Support Workers to join our teams in the Cumbria region. Our residential homes provide high quality accommodation for adults with autism, complex needs and/or learning disabilities. This would be an ideal role for those interested in supporting adults with varied and complex needs.

We have three Adult residential homes based in the Cumbria region, all within a close distance of each other. These sites vary from Middleton Fells - a brand-new site supporting adults aged 18 to 64 with Autism Spectrum conditions and Learning Disabilities. Greenacres – a site that houses young adults with complex needs, and require close supervision, however, enjoy accessing the local community to take part in a range of activities, and Grange View – a more independent home, with residents that access the local community to access vocational education, paid employment, or volunteering. Grange View residents benefit more from opportunities that allow then to increase the independence and basic life skills.

The homes are based in Kirkby Lonsdale and Grange-Over-Sands and are within commuting distance from Lancaster, Morecambe, Kendal, Carnforth and surrounds.

Who we are looking for:

Although, experience is not required, we need people who fit the following criteria

· People with a big heart and passion to make a difference to the residents’ lives

· Understanding that the people we care for can be challenging

· Be patient, resilient and calming

· Become the “go to” person for help, support and guidance with their everyday needs

· Willingness to learn not only about the people we support, but the ins and outs of Children’s Residential Care, by working towards a funded qualification in Adult Care Work (if you do not currently hold this or equivalent)
