Position:         Senior Residential Childcare Worker

Location:        Chipping Norton

Hours:             51.92 hours per week - Tuesday - Tuesday (7 days on 7 days off)

Salary:            £11.11 per hour

Essential:       Level 3 qualification in Social Care (Children and Young People), a full driving licence and the Right to Work in the UK

Steps is an 8 bedded registered residential facility which supports 8 boys and girls aged 6 – 13 years old with Social, Emotional, Mental Health difficulties. Rated Outstanding by Ofsted, the home is set is extensive grounds and even has its own small farm which encourages animal care and an understanding of the countryside. Located just outside Chipping Norton, easily accessible from Oxford, Banbury, Moreton-in-Marsh and other surrounding towns and villages.


We are looking for an experienced Senior Care Worker to join our fantastic team at our Steps home, based in Chipping Norton. As a Senior Care Worker, you will support our Head of Care and deputy managers in ensuring the smooth operation of the home, helping our children and young people in their daily lives, ensuring they are safe, comfortable, and healthy.

Our Senior Care Worker help to ensure our care teams have the structure, resources and motivation needed to provide the individual, bespoke, support required by the children and young people in our care. Alongside the Head of care and deputy Managers, you will deliver efficient management, delivery, and development of our residential Learning Disability service, ensuring the highest quality of care and support is consistently given.

Already a Senior Care Worker or looking for career progression with previous childcare experience  in a similar 24/7 LD/ASC care setting with ambition to progress, you will bring the right motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience to ensure a caring, structured service that provides a calm, homely environment.

You’ll play a key role in the smooth-running of the site, and you’ll have a good grasp of safety and hygiene. This is a role in which attention to detail really counts – and one that touches the real lives of people every day.

Our homes ideally need candidates who can drive so that the Children can be taken to appointments or fun days out and so that you can get to work. However, we’re aware that the upfront cost to learn to drive can sometimes be daunting, therefore if you don’t currently have a licence but you’re keen to learn and do your test, we can provide a loan to support you with this.
