About the Home:

Bryn Melyn are recruiting Senior Children’s Care Workers to continue developing your career within our teams within the Wrexham area. Our registered independent children’s homes offer residential care for children & young people with social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH). This means that the Children we care for may have experienced challenging or traumatic upbringings and may have difficulties with anxiety, mental health or in some cases self-harm. That’s why we’re looking for calm, conscientious and kind people who can take care of the nightly needs of the children– vital help that can transform their lives!

This home is within commutable distance from Shrewsbury, Welshpool, Oswestry and surround

.The Role:

As a Senior Children’s Care Worker, you will support the Care workers and work directly with vulnerable children with SEMH challenges. Daily tasks involve providing them with the care, support and opportunities they need to be happy, healthy and to make their way in the world. You will work with our multi-disciplinary and therapy team to contribute to individual Quality of Life Plans and provide a balanced programme of personal development focusing on social skills, independence and community involvement, enabling the young people to achieve their full potential. You will also be responsible for chaperoning the children to appointments and activities such as shopping or trips to the zoo, completing relevant paperwork, undertaking household tasks, personal care and where appropriate administering medication.

What we need from you:

· Currently hold your Level 4 Apprenticeship for Children Young People and Families Practitioner or NVQ equivalent

· Previous experience in a similar 24/7 LD/ASC care setting with ambition to progress

· Full and valid UK Driving Licence

· Access to a car

· Right to Work in the UK

· Passionate about caring for children and young people, and to support them to reach their full potential
