About the Role
We are looking for a Carer Recruitment Officer to help grow our family of foster carers. You do not need experience of promoting fostering and recruiting foster carers but you do need a passion for helping the lives of children and young people.
The focus of the role is to generate interest in fostering across the local community to help generate enquiries and will require coordination, engagement and recruitment of carers across the North West Region.
You will act as an ambassador, helping to promote fostering at small, local events you have planned and organised and through the use of social media. You will be comfortable engaging with the public and existing foster carers, raising awareness of fostering within the community and developing the local Facebook and general Social Media presence.
You will maintain contact with potential foster carers through the journey from enquiry to approval, supporting the screening, training and assessment process undertaken by your social work colleagues. You will mainly work at our Oldham office, occasionaly working from home. You will be managing the database of potential carers, and keeping colleagues and management updated with relevant information and weekly reports.
We are passionate about recruiting foster carers from diverse backgrounds who can provide a warm, nurturing, sensitive and responsive care to children and young people who have experienced disruption and trauma. We apply a therapeutic approach therefore are keen for our Carer Recruitment Officer to have or gain an understanding of Therapeutic Foster Care to support them to recruit foster carers with similar values to our own and drive our desire to support and enable children to live their best lives.
Who are we looking for?
Previous customer service, recruitment or marketing experience could help you succeed in the role; however, it is essential you can build rapport with members of the public and potential foster carers providing them with insight into the fostering task. You must be proficient in excel database management, social media and diary management, as well as demonstrating excellent spoken and written communication. There is comprehensive induction training and support for this role.
