About the Role

As a Senior Support Worker, your role will involve providing care to adults with Autism, Asperger’s Syndrome and associated difficulties. The role of Senior Support Worker focuses on developing independent living skills. Moreover, you will be assisting team leaders and managers with the day-to-day running of the house, ensuring that the care and support delivered is of the highest of standards.

Following a thorough induction and training programme, your duties would include:

  • Supporting learning experiences at home and the wider community
  • Developing personal and practical skills to enhance independent living
  • Encouraging participation in daily tasks
  • Reporting and recording key aspects of care
  • Managing complex and challenging behaviour
  • Assisting team leaders with finances, medication and care planning
  • Providing mentorship to new staff members
  • Acting up in the absence of team leaders
  • Providing support to care staff

Essential Criteria

  • It is essential that you have had previous experience within the care industry, have a passion for care and be willing to train to Level 2 Diploma in Health & Social Care (Adults) – funded by ourselves
  • Keen to work with young people and adults with autism and associated difficulties
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Have the flexibility and willingness to work shifts, including weekends
  • Ideally, hold a valid UK driving licence or have transport to and from work
  • Possess good organisational and IT skills
  • Be ambitious and willing to follow a career path

In line with changes to the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) (Amendment) (Coronavirus) Regulations 2021 anyone working in a CQC-registered care home in England for residents requiring nursing or personal care must have 2 doses of a COVID-19 vaccine unless they have a medical exemption.
