THE ROLE:

We are looking for an experienced Deputy Care Manager to join our fantastic team at Overton School. As a Deputy Care Manager, you will support our Head of Care in ensuring the smooth operation of the home, helping our children and young people in their daily lives, ensuring they are safe, comfortable, and healthy.

Our Deputy Care Managers help to ensure our care teams have the structure, resources and motivation needed to provide the individual, bespoke, support required by the children and young people in our care. Alongside the Head of care, you will deliver efficient management, delivery, and development of our residential Learning Disability service, ensuring the highest quality of care and support is consistently given.

Already a Deputy Care Manager or with previous management experience in a similar 24/7 LD/ASC care setting with ambition to progress, you will bring the right motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience to ensure a caring, structured service that provides a calm, homely environment.

You will be contracted to a 2 on 4 off shift patter amounting to 40 hours per week. This therefore includes sleep-ins.

Based on the above you will be working 244 hours per month (including your sleep-ins). However, flexibility is required.

To be successful in this role you will be:

  • Committed to providing an excellent level of care for our young people
  • Hold at least their NVQ/QFC level 3 in Children and young people services
  • Enthusiastic in your approach to tough challenges
  • Assertive in difficult situations
  • Open to new ways of thinking around our therapeutic model and parenting 
  • Able to remain calm under pressure
  • A strong communicator with great interpersonal skills
  • Hold a Full driving licence and your own vehicle
  • Flexible in providing consistent support to the young people in our care
  • Seeking career and personal development

Bryn Melyn Care (BMC) is part of the Outcomes First Group, we are a leading provider of therapeutic, residential care, independent education and integrated clinical services for children and young people with multiple and complex needs. We deliver a portfolio of specialist services for young people ages 8 – 18+, from crisis and assessment placement, through to long-term placement and preparation for independent living.

At Bryn Melyn Care we are continuously developing services in care and education for children and young people with a range of emotional and behavioural needs (EBD) as well as Learning disabilities.
