About the Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Social Worker to join our team at NFA Scotland, in a permanent, full time position, covering the Central Scotland area. It is home-based, although we do have a fantastic office to work from if you prefer.

The ideal candidate will share our Vision, Mission and Values ‘placing children at the heart of everything we do’ and be dedicated to delivering excellent quality outcomes for the children and young people in our care.

Supervising Social Workers are responsible for recruiting, assessing, supervising, training and supporting foster carers and their placements using a systemic, resilience, strengths-based conceptual framework for practice. Your primary responsibility will be providing high quality, professional support and supervision to your allocated foster carers and completing necessary documentation to evidence the child’s journey, progress and outcomes.

Our Supervising Social Workers play a vital and much valued role in the professional team around the child, working with our in-house, dedicated Clinical and Wellbeing Service. Our staff and carers are trained in Therapeutic Parenting, accredited by the British Psychological Society. We also have a dedicated training team that will help you in creating a career pathway and provide the guidance and tools to reach your potential.

This is your chance to join a diverse, innovative, high achieving team at NFA Scotland.

About the Group

We are part of the National Fostering Group – the UK’s largest independent fostering family.

Our highly skilled and dedicated fostering community supports Local Authorities by providing short or long-term foster placements for thousands of vulnerable children and teenagers throughout the UK. With 100% of our 30 regional fostering agencies officially recognised by Ofsted, Welsh and Scottish regulators as either ‘Outstanding’ or ‘Good’, it is perhaps not surprising that more people choose to foster with our fostering agencies than any other fostering provider in the UK.

NFA Scotland is based in Grangemouth and covers Scotland. Our agency currently has around 130 foster carers and 200 children and young people.
