We are looking for an inspiring Headteacher to join our fantastic team at Wessex Lodge School, Frome. As Headteacher, you will promote a relentless focus on high quality, creative learning, delivering our pupils educational needs, maximising children’s achievement, and their ability to develop.

This is a great opportunity for a Headteacher who is looking to bring innovation and creativity to inspire learning in an SEN environment for children with varied and complex needs. Your work will be challenging and rewarding in equal measure and you will be the custodian of our strong safeguarding culture, where pupils are listened to, respected, and involved in as many decisions as possible.

In partnership with your Deputy Headteachers, you will deliver clear, authentic leadership to our multidisciplinary team, establishing a school vision and strategic plan which inspires your team to deliver high levels of quality, compliance, and dedication. You will ensure your school has effective management, and an engaged, high performing team to deliver outstanding education.

When it comes to looking after our children, we never settle for second best. We are looking for a Headteacher with the experience, leadership skills and vision to build incredible futures by empowering vulnerable young people, to be happy and to make their way in the world.

NPQH qualified and already a Headteacher, or a Deputy Headteacher looking to progress, you will be experienced in an SEN environment, and be genuinely motivated by helping every child to reach their potential.

About us:

Wessex Lodge School is a co-educational, SEMH independent special school, rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted. The school comprises of two main sites: The Arc, which is mainly for the younger children and Triskele Farm, an alternative provision which is a care farm around 20 minutes’ drive from the main site. We have grown to support 40 students, aged 8-18. The majority of these students are day placements. Each student has individual needs based on developmental challenges, Social Emotional Mental Health difficulties or Autism. We support them using individual plans and the THRIVE approach.
