Weaveley offers a holistic model of care and education for boys, which is designed to stabilise extreme patterns of behaviour and provide positive, enriching life experiences. Our aim is to help young people achieve their full potential and prepare them for future independence. Weaveley is committed to this aim by working in partnership with relevant agencies, facilitating further education, training and employment opportunities. We make every effort to effectively engage and work with relevant persons involved in young people's care with the aim of ensuring that each young person's needs are met.

The Role

As a Children’s Support Worker within our residential home at Weaveley, you will work directly with vulnerable children with SEMH challenges. Daily tasks involve providing them with the care, support and opportunities they need to be happy, healthy and to make their way in the world. You will work with our multi-disciplinary and therapy team to contribute to individual Quality of Life Plans and provide a balanced programme of personal development focusing on social skills, independence and community involvement, enabling the young people to achieve their full potential. You will also be responsible for chaperoning the children to appointments and activities such as shopping or trips to the zoo, completing relevant paperwork, undertaking household tasks, personal care and where appropriate administering medication.

Your empathy and warmth are just what’s needed in this rewarding role, working as part of an incredible team of committed care workers to help vulnerable children and young people feel safe and secure as they build the skills they need for life.

You’ll be friendly, patient, kind and considerate as you help them learn, making sure they’re well looked after whenever they’re in our care. You’ll love giving them space to grow and thrive, playing your part in creating a nurturing environment in which they can fulfil their potential.

Great communication skills are essential, as you’ll be in close contact with the children you care for on a daily basis. In this role, warm and welcoming smiles really matter!

Who we’re looking for

You’ll be excited to help vulnerable children and young people to live happy, fulfilling lives, playing an essential role as part of our care-giving team. With your calm, conscientious approach, you’ll take care of everyday needs – vital help that can transform their lives.

You’ll play a key role in the smooth-running of the site, and you’ll have a good grasp of safety and hygiene. This is a role in which attention to detail really counts – and one that touches the real lives of people every day.

Our homes ideally need candidates who can drive so that the Children can be taken to appointments or fun days out and so that you can get to work. However, we’re aware that the upfront cost to learn to drive can sometimes be daunting, therefore if you don’t currently have a licence but you’re keen to learn and do your test, we can provide a loan to support you with this. The cost will be paid back in instalments over your first six months, so don’t let this hold you back and apply today!
