Job Title: Cook

Location: Ludlow, BMC Overton School.

Hours: 40 hours per week, Pro rota no set pattern- 08:00-18:00

Salary: £18,720

THE ROLE:

We are recruiting a committed Cook to join our education team. This is a great opportunity to work as part of a team committed to helping children with varied and complex needs. You will oversee all aspects of catering at school, in particular the lunch-time meal for pupils and colleagues and a mid-morning snack, in addition to ensuring that hygiene and safety protocols are implemented to the highest standards.

To be considered for this role it is essential that you have a genuine commitment to working with pupils with special educational needs and that you have the passion to encourage positive learning experiences. You will be assertive in difficult situations and will have the ability to adapt your teaching approaches to individual needs, in particular communication adaptation.

About us:

At BMC we have over 30 years of expertise and work with leading professionals in the industry to equip our staff with the knowledge and skills required to transform the lives of vulnerable children and young people. At (insert school name) we will be providing specialist residential and educational placements to children and young people between 10-18 who have an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) diagnosis, and whilst comprehensive training will be provided, we are looking for people who have experience of working with autism and understand the challenges and barriers that our children will face within an educational setting.

THE RECRUITMENT PROCESS

In addition successful applicants will be required to hold an enhanced plus barred DBS check (which we will pay for) and will be expected to maintain a DBS update membership. Full employment references are also required and comprehensive background checks completed.
