Role:              Speech and Language Therapist

Salary:                £35,000 FTE

Contract:            Permanent, Term Time only with 2 days during the summer holiday

This is an exciting, new opportunity for an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our regional multi-disciplinary Wessex Hub, which includes Jubilee school and Manor House School, associated residential children’s homes and fostering agencies. It is an ideal opportunity for those who would be excited by creating a nationally important resource with the substantial backing of a leading provider of education and care for children, young people, and adults with complex needs. We are working with an innovative wellbeing strategy where you will have a key role by increasing children’s wellbeing through communication and social skills.

About the Role

Your role is varied and no day will be the same. You will carry out individual evidence based assessments; plan, implement and evaluate individual and group therapeutic interventions; and write relevant reports. You will be training, offering advice and supporting colleagues who will help implement therapeutic plans, as well as other staff within the Clinical Wellbeing Hub and across Outcomes First Group. You will liaise with other clinicians, wellbeing staff, and external agencies including the Local Authorities’ Social Services and Education Departments and NHS Services. You will support the Regional Lead by contributing to and implementing evidence based evaluation of outcomes, service developments and projects.

We envisage you will work 2 days based in each school. This is a term time only role with an additional 2 days to be worked during the summer holidays, to offer carers and parents ongoing support implementing therapeutic interventions.

Who we are looking for?

We’re looking for a committed and enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist. Someone with a holistic and integrated approach to care, education and clinical services would be perfect for this role. You will work collaboratively across a number of settings and will be part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Active RCSLT and HCPC registrations are required, as well as relevant post-registration experience working with children and young people. Ideally you will have experienced working with children who have social, emotional and mental health needs, including children with Autism Spectrum Condition. A driving licence and car are essential due to the regional nature of this role.
