Job Title:          PHSE/RSE Co-Ordinator

Location:         Trent Acres, Kings Bromley

Salary:              £26,000 - £29,000 per annum

Hours:              40 hours per week.

Contract:          Permanent Term Time only

About the role

We require an experienced and qualified PSHE/RSE Co-Ordinator who has the ability to make a significant contribution to our school. The successful candidate will be an innovative, reflective practitioner who can demonstrate the willingness to adapt and learn. We are looking for an individual with high expectations and standards who can offer excellent behavioural management skills.  An additional strength would be a creative, engaging approach to curriculum design and planning both within the classroom and also in the wider outdoor learning environment.

Minumum GCSE Grade C in English and Maths; Relevant subject qualification

Options Trent Acres, is a newly opened service and situated on a 12 acre site offering an integrated residential, education and care package for children between 8 and 19 years with a wide range of complex needs, Autism and associated learning disabilities The school is purpose built, modern and welcoming with a range of specialist learning areas including an indoor and outdoor riding school and outdoor gymnasium.

Children also have the opportunity to work with our horses, donkeys, goats, alpaca and chickens. Learning outside of the classroom is a fundamental part of life at Trent Acres. We have a dedicated staff team who are focused on the delivery of high quality, child centred, bespoke packages of care and education. Our service is in within easy reach of Stoke, Derby, Telford, Stafford, Lichfield, Burntwood, Rugeley, Burton-on-Trent, Tamworth, Uttoxeter and surrounding towns.For over 16 years Options Autism have provided care and education to children, young people and adults with autism, complex needs and learning difficulties. As part of Outcomes First Group we are leading our sector in setting and delivering new approaches that provide measurable outcomes for those in our care.

Who are we looking for?

The successful candidate will have experience of working with young people with a range of complex learning needs. Minimum GCSE Grade C in English and Maths; Relevant Subject Qualification; Relevant Teaching Qualification You will be able to demonstrate a working understanding of how these needs impact upon learning and behaviour in the classroom. You may have specialist knowledge and experience of working with autistic spectrum condition or children with social, emotional and mental health difficulties. Or you may have experience of working across both specialisms. 

The ability to contribute to the development of our school is essential and we believe that energy, passion and a commitment to high standards are key characteristics required.  We are looking for an individual who is able to help inspire and engage the young people that we serve.  This is an opportunity for the successful candidate to develop their skills and experience in a challenging, motivating and highly rewarding environment. Previous experience of working in a SEN environment would be desirable, excellent support skills and the right motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience are also just as important.
