Job Title: Infrastructure Engineer
Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week
Location: Flexible, Head Office in Bolton and will be expected to be there occasionally
Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum
About the Role
The Infrastructure Engineer will play an instrumental role in maintaining and developing a range of Infrastructure technologies across the Group. You will work independently and directly with IT teams as well as with 3rd party solution providers.
The role holder will play a pivotal part in transforming aspects of the core infrastructure, ensuring colleagues across more than 200 sites have reliable access to the IT services they rely on every day. In-scope systems could be anything from networks & firewalls, phone systems & mobiles or sourcing the best servers, printers or laptops.
It is essential you have an understanding/experience of: Windows server / Active Directory / Microsoft 365 / Azure / Virtualization / Lan or Wan technologies / MDM / Networking

This is a varied role, ideally suited to someone with a wide range of infrastructure experience. You’ll enjoy working in a fast-paced environment always paying attention to the key elements that keep our systems safe and secure.
You’ll be commercially focussed making sure value for money across all our systems and services. A natural team player, you’ll enjoy sharing your skills and experience with Help Desk colleagues – all part of the great IT service we provide across the growing business.
You will hold a professional qualification or IT Degree, or be working towards one and have experience working within an ITIL framework. Please see the Job Description for a full list of essential/preferred experience but some other essentials include:
- Demonstrated efficient and effective use of problem-solving and task prioritization to solve complex challenges
- Extensive knowledge of enterprise ethernets, Vlan, routing, switching and IP addressing.
- A broad technical knowledge of PC’s/peripherals and their architecture.
- Strong customer service skills
