Speech and Language Therapist
Up to £35,000 (dependent on experience)
Would you like to work in a beautiful setting, on the edge of the Lake District National Park, enriching the lives of young people as a Speech and Language Therapist?
We are looking for a qualified Speech and Language Therapist to join our fantastic in house clinical team based at our service Underley Garden. A fantastic opportunity to join a growing clinical provision, working as part of a team committed to helping children with varied and complex needs. You will be working in a setting where we maintain a strong safeguarding culture, where children and young people are listened to, respected and involved in as many decisions as possible. Our Speech and Language Therapists play a key role in promoting a holistic and person centred approach across both the school and children’s home.
You will work alongside other professionals to carry out specialist assessment, provide advice and recommendations as well as design and deliver the individual, bespoke speech and language therapy interventions required by the children and young people within our care.
As a Therapy Team we encourage creativity and innovative practise and place a great emphasis on therapist’s continuing professional development. New team members have previously benefited from funded opportunities to develop in areas such as Makaton, The Picture Exchange Communication System, ELKLAN tutor training and Talking Mats. Quality is always top of our agenda and we pride ourselves on the quality of what we do.
We are looking for a Therapist who shares our vision to build incredible futures by empowering vulnerable young people in the UK, to be happy and to make their way in the world. You will work collaboratively, attending internal and external meetings and helping to ensure the delivery of a co-ordinated multidisciplinary service.
As a qualified Speech and Language Therapist with a relevant degree and membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT), you will have experience of working with children and young people.
Complex needs and autism experience/knowledge would be great but just as important are the right motivation, personal qualities, and knowledge to provide a safe, caring environment where every child can thrive.
