Hours: Full Time (TTO), Monday – Friday, 40 hours a week

We are looking for an enthusiastic and vibrant Teacher (Maths & Assessment) to join our team at Jubilee School. Someone who can deliver an holistic and integrated approach to care, education and clinical services would be perfect for this role.

About the School

Jubilee School is a co-educational day School, which helps educate and support Children aged between 8 – 16 who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges and additional complex behaviours. Jubilee School is linked with four residential homes and is located in Waterlooville, just outside of Portsmouth.

About the Role

The post holder will:

  • Secure a high quality of teaching, effective use of resources and improve standards of learning and achievement for all pupils in consultation with the curriculum leaders, and school leaders.
  • Teach predominantly Maths, but also a range of other subjects as necessary to ensure the effective delivery of the school’s curriculum.
  • In consultation with the Head of School undertake other identified areas of responsibility as necessary to ensure effective delivery of the school’s curriculum.

Essential Criteria

  • Be a good (with desire to be outstanding) classroom practitioner who has high expectations of self and others and is passionate about encouraging all pupils to achieve success.
  • Be ambitious to support and extend the learning opportunities for all the pupils.
  • Have a commitment to working in partnership with the Therapy team: Speech and Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists, other staff, parents and the community to reduce the barriers to learning that children and young people with SEMH face and promote excellent learning opportunities for all.
  • Have drive, enthusiasm and a clear vision for achieving educational excellence for children with SEMH.
  • Have strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Be able to contribute to the wider curriculum of the school through sports, arts, music, drama, and other enrichment activities.
  • A real desire to make a positive difference to the pupils you work with.
