Job Title: Night Residential Childcare Worker
Location: The Ferns, Rugeley
Salary: £19,890 - £20,995 per annum (£9.00 - £9.50 per hour)
Hours: 4 on 4 off night shift rota, 40 Hours per week

We are looking for responsible, caring people to join our fantastic team at The Ferns, Rugeley as a Care Worker. As a Care worker, you will support our children and young people in their daily lives, ensuring they are safe, comfortable, and healthy.

Our care workers carry out an essential and varied role to provide the individual, bespoke, support required by the children and young people in our care. You will help the children with their nightly routine, collaborating with colleagues to ensure a smooth day to night transition, complete relevant paperwork, deliver personal care, undertake household tasks, and where appropriate administer medication.

Previous experience in a care setting would be great but isn’t essential as full training will be given, and the right motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience are just as important. These roles are ideal for people working in customer facing industries including retail, hospitality, and leisure, looking for a new role that makes a real difference to children’s lives and futures.
Already qualified to or willing to work towards your NVQ3 in Health & Social Care, you will be calm, engaging, resilient, able to work the required shifts, and be motivated to provide a safe, caring environment where every child can thrive.
About us:
Acorn care and education are looking for RCCW’s to join our Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (SEBD) team in The Ferns Rugeley, Staffordshire. Our beautiful and homely residential setting provides 24/7 care for up to four young people within the home. Each child has their own room which they decorate to their individual tastes and cater for their requirements.
The children could display a variety of challenges and be verbally or physically aggressive. Therefore, we are looking for enthusiastic and caring people to help make a difference to these children regardless of the challenges you may be faced with.
