Job title:           Senior Maintenance Person

Location:          Regional – Shropshire and North Wales area

Hours:              40 hours per week, plus on-call

Salary:             £27,000 - £30,000 per annum

Contract:          Permanent

Are you experience in general maintenance? Could you work in our residential homes keeping our children’s environments safe?

We are looking for an experienced Senior Maintenance Person to join our fantastic team, working regionally but based at our Shifnal School site. As a Senior Maintenance Person, you will support our Schools and Residential sites across the Shropshire and North Wales area to maintain buildings and equipment to the high standards set by the company and external regulators. This role will require you to be adaptable and flexible as you will be reacting to anything from door repairs to painting/decorating.

This is a great opportunity for a Senior Maintenance Person. Your work will be challenging and rewarding in equal measure. Our maintenance team are integral to ensuring our homes are safe as well as look homely. You will also deputise in the absence of the Facilities Manager.

Previous experience in a similar setting is essential, along with a recognised Plumbing and Joinery qualification, the right DIY skills, motivation, and personal qualities are just as important. These roles are ideal for people with skills in maintenance, DIY and health and safety, looking for a new role that makes a real difference to children’s lives and futures.

About us:

Bryn Melyn Care (BMC) is a leading provider of therapeutic, residential care, independent education and integrated clinical services for children and young people with multiple and complex needs. We deliver a portfolio of specialist services for young people ages 8 – 18+, from crisis and assessment placement, through to long-term placement and preparation for independent living.

At Bryn Melyn Care we are continuously developing services in care and education for children and young people with a range of emotional and behavioural needs (EBD). We have 27 residential homes across Shropshire, North Wales and Powys. Our homes consist of solo bedded homes, multi bedded homes; for up to 2-4 children or young people.
