Job Title:         School Cook / Instructor

Location:         Upton Grange, Slough

Salary:             Up to £24,000 per annum

Hours:              38.5 hours per week

Contract:          Permanent

We are looking for an experienced Cook to join our fantastic team at Upton Grange, Slough. As Cook, you will take a creative approach to preparing meals for our 35 Children, with a focus on colours/textures and sensory based meals, whilst making sure the dietary requirements of each child are met. This is a great opportunity for a Cook who alongside preparing meals, wants to share their knowledge of food and nutrition with the Children in group or 1 to 1 cooking sessions.

The main responsibilities of this role are:

  • Preparing both breakfast and lunch for Children in the School
  • Liaising with Parents to discuss dietary needs
  • Working with onsite therapists to make sure the Children are having the correct meals
  • Ordering of stock
  • Holding group and 1 to 1 cooking sessions with Children

We are looking for someone who has a passion for cooking and teaching others. No formal qualifications are necessary for this role, however previous work within an SEN environment is highly desirable.

Upton Grange School, is a new specialist ASD provision that opened in February 2021. As part of the Hillingdon Manor group of schools and the Outcomes First Group, Upton Grange will offer day provision to children with Autism from the ages of 4 to 11 years old. We are currently looking for passionate, enthusiastic and committed Teachers to join our dedicated staff team at the new site. Upton Grange is located in Slough, within a 5 minute drive of Junction 5 of the M4. The location has excellent transport links with Slough Railway Station (Great Western main line and Cross Rail – to London and Reading) being a 10 minute walk/5 minute bus journey to the site.
