Job title:               Waking Night Support Worker

Location:              Overton School

Hours:                   40 hours per week, with flexibility

Salary:                  £18,720 - £19,760 per annum (£9.00 - £9.50 per hour)

THE ROLE:

Our residential school is looking for caring individuals who enjoy working with young people and are keen to make a difference.  

We are looking for creative, active and open-minded Waking night support workers, to join our family feel team. You must have a keen interest in encouraging and inspiring even the most challenging of minds and behaviours. We are looking for candidates, who want to get involved, have their ideas heard, are confident being a parental figure and who are resilient, active and caring.

As a Waking Night Support Worker you will work closely with our young people who have Learning Difficulties to ensure they are being provided support and a good quality of life with positive outcomes throughout the night. You will be supporting our young people with their night time routines which can include, personal care, settling young people to bed as well as ensuring the home is clean and tidy.

This role is a permanent night time role, working 10 hour shifts, 4 evenings on and 4 off

We are looking for people who are:

· Able to enjoy our young people’s successes and be supportive through their challenges.

· Assertive in difficult situations, while remaining calm under pressure.

· Willing to support the young people at home and in school.

· A good communicator with interpersonal skills.

· Have a sense of humour and fun.

· Hold a Full driving licence and your own vehicle.

· Flexibility to travel and work shifts across multiple sites where needed.

You do not have to be qualified to apply for this role, as we will provide you with all the skills and training you require to be successful. However after the 6 month probation, you will be expected to commence studying towards a Level 3 NVQ in Residential Childcare.
