Location:         Overseeing South Yorkshire and Staffordshire Homes

Salary:             £45,000 - £50,000 Per annum

Hours:             37.5 Mainly Monday – Friday with some flexibility

Contract:         Permanent

Can you enrich the lives of young people as a Head of Care overseeing a number of Residential Children’s Homes?

We are looking for a Head of Care to join our Meadowcroft Cluster. Someone with who can deliver a holistic and integrated approach to Care, Education and Clinical Services would be perfect for this role.

The Head of Care role is a senior operational management role responsible for the management of a cluster or region of care services attached to one of our registered schools. In this role you will take direct line management responsibility for the Registered / Home Managers of those services and indirectly Deputy Managers.

The Head of Care will be fully responsible for the operations, quality & improvement of care and care governance, safeguarding and financial performance of those services in line with Acorn Education & Care’s vision, mission and values.

We are looking for someone who has had an extensive and successful experience as a Registered Manager within a Children & Young Person’s care environment.  Have a positive work ethic and able to effectively produce an effective Leadership Team.You will be working with a bubbly team of Registered and Deputy Managers who have significant experience working with Children and Young People with complex needs. As part of this role, you will be required to develop the Manager’s performance and abilities, so excellent communication skills and the ability to lead and manage strategically are vital.

You will need to have an extensive knowledge surrounding Safeguarding of Children and Young People.  A main responsibility of the Head of Care will be ensuring all services implement the Safeguarding procedures correctly.  Someone who places focus on the positive outcomes of our Children and Young People and takes responsibility for helping improve their lives.

While experience of working with Children & Young People within special education residential setting is desirable, excellent leadership skills, the right motivation and personal qualities are just as important.

This role will be overseeing a number of Children’s Homes, all Homes are between 3-5 bed and look after Children and Young People with a range of SEMH needs, along with Autism and Learning Difficulties.
