Contract:              Permanent, term-time only

We are looking for an experienced school leader to join our fantastic team at Options Barton, Barton-Upon-Humber. As Deputy Headteacher, you will support our Head of School in school management, delivering our pupils educational needs, maximising children’s achievement, and their ability to develop.

This is a great opportunity for a senior leader / Deputy Headteacher who is looking for the chance to bring innovation and creativity to inspire learning in an SEN/ASC environment for children with varied and complex needs. Your work will be challenging and rewarding in equal measure and you will be the custodian of our strong safeguarding culture, where pupils are listened to, respected, and involved in as many decisions as possible.

In partnership with our Head of School, you will deliver clear, authentic leadership to our multidisciplinary team, establishing school aims and objectives, ensuring high levels of quality and compliance and working collaboratively to develop appropriate, individualised programmes of learning for our children.

Educated to degree level or equivalent with Qualified Teacher Status, you will be experienced in an SEN/ASC environment, enjoy leading a team, and be genuinely motivated by helping every child to reach their potential.

About us:

Options Barton offers a DfE-registered independent day special school offering an adapted and differentiated national curriculum for Key Stage 2, 3 and 4 pupils, and a vocational-based curriculum in our sixth form for post-16 students

The teaching frameworks at Options Barton have been specifically designed for children and young people with special educational needs and follow an autism specific approach. Each child has their own bespoke curriculum which takes into account their academic potential as well the level of independent and clinical support required to manage their behaviour through self-regulation and to enable them to improve communication and prepare for adulthood. The students can gain accreditation through a range of qualifications such as Functional Skills, AQA Unit Awards and ASDAN. Some students will access courses through local colleges and learning providers, and some will attend work experience in the community. Class sizes range from individual tuition to small groups of up to 6.

For over 16 years Options Autism have provided care and education to children, young people and adults with autism, complex needs and learning difficulties.
