Salary:             Up to £20,052 dependent on experience

Hours:              Monday to Friday (between 8:30am to 5.00pm)

Contract:          Permanent, Term Time only

We are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to join our fantastic team at Hillingdon Manor School in Uxbridge. As a Teaching Assistant, you will support our Teachers to take a creative approach to teaching pupils according to their educational needs, maximising children’s achievement, and ability to develop.

When it comes to looking after our children, we never settle for second best. We are looking for a Teaching Assistant, who can work with individual and small groups of children, preparing classrooms and materials, and building positive relationships with pupils to promote interaction and learning. Our Teaching Assistants offer essential support to our Teachers and have the opportunity to assist in the planning and delivery of lessons in a creative and positive setting.

As a Teaching Assistant, your role would be classroom based with direct contact with our pupils at all times. You would work collaboratively with your class team and department to support all pupils to work towards achieving their individual outcomes and maximising their learning opportunities both within and outside of the school setting. The profile of our pupils would require the successful candidate to have a high level of patience and a good understanding to their specific needs.

Offered on a permanent basis, this role would suit a proactive individual with previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or Childcare Practitioner.

Applicants must meet and evidence the following criteria: -

  • Relevant Teaching Assistant/Childcare Qualification
  • Experience of or have an interest in working with children and young people with ASC or similar
  • Commitment to work 38.5 hours per week (8.30 start times-4.30-5pm finish times)

Hillingdon Manor School is based in Uxbridge, Middlesex, we are in commuting distance of Cowley, Colham Green, Yiewsley, Hillingdon, Hayes and surrounding areas.

At Hillingdon Manor, we provide specialist education for 185 pupils, aged between 3.5-19. Located across two sites our Primary School Yiewsley Grange supports around c55 students. Within Yiewsley Grange we deploy a wide range of teaching strategies to engage and develop the progress of learners, who present with a range of learning difficulties and styles. Our students are taught in smaller class sizes and all students work towards an Equals Semi-Formal Curriculum and equivalent qualifications in functional skills.
