We currently have opportunities to join us as a Night Support Worker.   Previous Support Worker experience isn’t required, someone who is motivated by helping others, proactive, patient and resilient would be perfect for this role.

 

About the role

As a Support Worker you will be working a 5 on and 5 off rolling shift pattern, which consists of 9pm to 9am hours.  During your shift you will be supporting the adults with their night and morning routines; cooking, playing games / activities, helping the residents get ready for bed and get up and ready in the morning and assisting with the personal care and emotional support needs the Adults may have.  All of our residents have a range of complex needs associated with autism and learning disabilities, including complex communication, sensory and behavioural needs associated with their disabilities.  They can present with complex communication needs and challenging behaviour associated with their disability.  A key responsibility is to Safeguard all who are in our care and ensure they are safe and healthy.  You will also regularly update agreed care plans, paperwork and keep the home clean and tidy.

 

About the home

Our Underley Gardens site consists of 3 adult homes; one in Kirkby Lonsdale, one in Lindale and one in Grange-over-Sands. At times, you may be required to work across the other sites however you will be predominantly based at one location.  Overtime is available at a rate of £10.75ph.

 

Essential criteria

This role doesn’t require previous Support Worker experience as full training is provided.  We have people who have successfully joined us from retail, hospitality, fitness, customer service backgrounds and more! 

We are looking for someone who is proactive, flexible, compassionate, resilient, and calm under pressure with the desire to learn and work with adults with complex needs providing the best possible standards of care and outcomes.  You will be required to partake in physical intervention training and utilise this training if required.   A driving licence is desirable.
