Location:          Belmont Secondary School – Rawtenstall, Rossendale, Lancashire.
Salary:              Up to £19,500 (dependant on qualifications and experience)
Hours:             37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday

Contract:          Permanent, Term Time only

About the Role:

The Head of School is seeking to appoint an aspiring and understanding Emotional Wellbeing Coordinator to join this thriving specialist SEMH School. Responsible to the SENCO they will help champion and promote the principles of nurture, wellbeing and Thrive school wide. Helping to raise standards of pupil attainment. You will be an enthusiastic, flexible and determined individual who shares our values and is looking to develop their career in this specialist area.

Who we are looking for?

We are looking for an Emotional Wellbeing Coordinator.  Whilst experience within an SEMH/SEN specialist provision would be desirable we will consider applications from those who are currently working in a mainstream setting.

Thrive, Trauma and wellbeing specialism is desirable for this post but training and development will be provided for the successful candidate, in line with the identified needs of the school, the skills of the individual and their prospective career progression.

Key Accountabilities:

  • To champion and promote the principles of the Thrive programme/Trauma informed practice to the whole school.
  • To coordinate and monitor students emotional wellbeing in the school and liaise with the SENCO and Senior Leadership Team regarding implications for the whole school
  • To liaise with the DSL regarding any causes of concern or child protection issues and to follow the correct safeguarding procedures
  • To oversee the initial assessments and ongoing monitoring of students, and the implication of students action plans

Essential Criteria

  • Previous experience and certificate in Thrive/Trauma informed practice
  • Will be flexible and organised
  • Have a good standard of literacy
  • Be willing to undertake any additional training
  • Proven experience of delivering emotional health interventions in school
  • Knowledge of mental health and whole school approaches to emotional mental health wellbeing
  • DBS cleared and satisfactory references
  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as a team with discretion
