We currently have an opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist to join our clinical team based in Bromley, Kent.  An ideal opportunity for those with experience of working with children who have Autism Spectrum Disorder and associated comorbidities now seeking a new challenge and especially interested in developing their leadership skills. You will be playing an integral role within our expanding clinical wellbeing team and have opportunities to work with foster parents and looked after children

 

About the role

The successful applicant will be based at our Baston House School.  Baston House is a specialist school catering to pupils with an EHCP or a statement of special educational needs.  The school has excellent resources which includes a Pastoral Co-ordinator, Family Liaison Officer and an Inclusion Manager all providing first line support to the clinical team which is also a well-established provision consisting of; Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Therapies Assistants and an Assistant Clinical Psychologist.  A fantastic team with systems and processes in place.  This role is ideal for those looking for a new challenge which offers opportunities to develop additional skills in management / supervision and also offers the scope to be involved with the strategic mapping out of governance across the region.  The Clinical Psychologist reports directly into the Regional Clinical lead, a Consultant Clinical Psychologist who would also Supervise.

 

In brief the successful candidate will be responsible for:

•            Providing a systematic high-quality psychology service within the designated provision(s) to children and young people

•            Working collaboratively with others to promote the wellbeing and best interests of the children and young people and the effectiveness of the service in achieving its aims and objectives, ensuring a high quality service provision in line with best practice guidelines and internal policies and procedures

•            Undertaking all aspects of Clinical Psychology duties adhering to professional and regulatory guidelines

•            Carrying out assessments; designing individualised plans and strategies; implementing evidence-based therapeutic interventions; report writing, attending and facilitating multi-professional reviews  

•            Providing advice, information and training to staff, other members of the Clinical Wellbeing and multi-disciplinary team(s), commissioners and other agencies regarding the impact on children of trauma and adverse life experiences; attachment difficulties; neuro-diversity and educational needs.

 

Essential criteria:

•            Post-graduate doctoral level in Clinical Psychology

•            Registered with the HCPC

•            Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to the setting

•            Substantial and relevant post-qualification experience with children and young people

•            Full valid UK driving licence and access to a car
